This had NOTHING to do with security, or protecting my identity. This had to do with keeping their money, and poor customer service. I will NEVER set foot in there again.

If you think youre getting GOOD customer service and good deals from NFM you are dead wrong. Bought 2 laptops for graduation gifts.

The first one we opened had a crack on the outside shell. NFM response, "super glue it. It will be fine". Wouldnt take it back.

I thought it was strange that you had to pick up outside of their facility. Now I know why. Get it outside and it becomes your problem. Then was talked in warrantys and was told we could replace the batteries in a year.

Just tried to do that and now they don't have servicing and was told to call their warranty place. We did and that rep won't replace them as there is 'nothing' wrong with them. I can't believe this place. Talked to a manager.

They are all so smooth talking.

Won't ever do business with them again. $1500 is alot to us and they treated us like we spent $5 not $1500.

I have to agree with previous posts. I went to NFM today and was trying to buy a living room set.

The salesman was rude and didn't even try to show me things. He asked me to give him the SKU numbers so he could write it up. Its like haveing to check out twice, talk to the sales guy, then go stand in line to pay, then go park in line to pickup. Hate the place.

Mom once bough a oven there, didn't fit. The customer service rep accidently sent her an internal document teaching oven sales. Explaining to remind customers to measure their opening after the pick out the oven.

And if recieving it and finding it doesn't fit to try and upsale them to a model that does fit, and if not charge for restocking and pickup. Place is like the used car lot of furniture except with worse sales people and practices.

My husband and I purchased an entire living room grouping which included a sofa, loveseat, rocker recliner and 3 end tables. The salesman tried to say we could not get the furniture in the color we had selected from the swatches attached to the furniture.

Finally after 3 sales reps came along they realized that they could get the color we wanted. We ordered and were told it would be about 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. After 2 months it was finally delivered but the chair was NOT the color of the rest of the furniture like we had ordered. They left it anyway and said to call customer service.

I did and all they offered was to arrange for an exchange and provide me with a $50 IN STORE coupon! We live out of town so it would cost more than $50 to even get there.

Plus the fact that I will not shop there again. It is too bad people have to be so greedy and have lost sight of what true customer service really is!

Just another note. If you buy carpet from NFM (or anyone for that matter) have them give you a piece of the sample and keep it to make sure the quality matches once it is installed.

I have heard of more than one complaint regarding the installation of a cheaper type of carpet than what was purchased. At least in my friend's case, she still had the sample and the case was settled via arbitration in her favor.

Nebraska Furniture Mart used to be a great place to buy items for your home, but they have completely lost sight of what Rose Blumkin stood for. She was a tough gal, but she always took care of the customer.

Now, their motto seems to be "we don't care we don't have to." I am finding it easier and easier to furnish my house without them. In the last year I have purchased a dining table $1200, a flat panel TV $800, 10 dining chairs $1295 and not a single one from NFM. The chairs and table were ordered online because they were better quality and price. The TV from Best Buy because NFM was sold out.

(Best Buy matched the price.) Now, we will purchase a refrigerator from a competitor because NFM would not arrange for proper delivery.

So NFM refridge cancelled and a competitor will sell it for $120 less. NFM may want to start caring, because that is whole chunk of change they have lost just from one customer.

I'm pissed...I bought appliances on sale at NFM - for a house we are rehabbing.. last nite we opened the box the refrig came in & it was damage on the side of it.

I mean HUGE dents! But the box wasn't damage so we thought it would be fine - reason we didn't open the box right away - plus our cabinets weren't done yet. I called Customer Service last nite & I'm over my 30 day rule to exchange....so I'm screwed. They gave me $75 off...but big deal.

I can't sell a house with a refrig in this condition! I had spent over 2k... but I'm stuck w/damage goods from NFM.

Not happy here in Excelsior Springs MO! :(

I agree they treated me like a second-class, ignorant nobody. Besides the deplorable "service" :?

there's also the fact that they do LIE bold faced. We had a coupon for $25.00 off and they gave us 5 different excuses why we couldn't use them, and not one of them was valid. Not ONE. I read the fine print to the lady and she kept coming up with a new reason she couldn't honor their ad.

:( Why? Because they never intended to offer a discount.

I can't stand a liar. They lost $3500+ in revenue from my household.

I would like to take the time to add to my previous complaint. I was contacted the same day by not one, but two very professional and caring NFM employees, who were very attentive to my concerns.

They ended up delivering the bed for free the next day after it arrived in the warehouse, and even assembled it free of cost. One of the railings was severly warped though, but that same evening they brought a new set of railings and also even threw in a beaded light fixture for my little girl to apologize for the delay. I now am very happy, and they definately saved me as a customer. I didnt need to be treated like royalty, just get some kindness and appreciation, but what I got was the royal treatment and I appreciate it for my daughter who is happily loving sleeping in her new bed.

She thought it was pretty cool watching the guy put it together also. Thanks NFM for coming through.

NEBRASKA FURNITURE MART, Customer service is HORRIBLE!

We ordered a table from NFM and when the first table came they just set it up and didn't open/close the middle piece to see if it worked. After they left we tried it and it wouldn't open or close back up. Called NFM and they said a tech would call in 7-10 days....2 weeks later we called NFM back and said, we have no call? They called the tech and the tech told them that he talked to us already and everything was fine??! Well that didnt happen. So My husband told them to have another tech call..2 weeks after that and no call. He called NFM and told them to just send a new table. They brought that two weeks later and opened it and the middle piece opened but wouldn't close totally when pushed together. There is a gap in the table about a half inch. My husband called NFM and was like.. Okay, WTH? I want a tech to come out and fix this one. They said they can't guarantee he will call in 7-10 days but will put in the request. Then proceeded to argue with my Husband that they can't control anything. Umm..didn't we buy this from NFM and now they have no control over their stuff? Uh..weird. He talked to a Manager too and she was totally pissy and never once apologized, said she understood our frustration..she just kept telling my husband.."ARE YOU DONE, ARE YOU DONE, so I CAN TALK?!" What the heck, worst customer service, EVER! So..our table is still not working right and they apparantly hire tech's that lie and never call. I won't buy from them again... EVER

Disservice

Extended warranty service on our flat screen tv and the contract is managed by Assurance Ins. Assurance has given no assurance of good customer care. Nebraska was notified and have taken a no fault attitude. The company chosen by Assurance for repairs was Frick Electronics and only way to get service from them is the more compliant the customer is the easier the service is tolerated. Frick has delayed service thru just not returning calls, not showing up for appointments, scheduling-loosing schedules-rescheduling and denial. Assurance's problem solving concerns have been only towards cost. So, Frick's upper hand has been how low they can bill Assurance for this bad customer. Meanwhile the customer has lost several days off from work, lost personal appointments, and gains have been mental frustrations. It has been since Sept.24,'08 and we are still waiting for repairs and Assurance has been assured that Frick Electronics is forbidden on this customer property. Would like to end that we are in Kansas City, also the comments on cost and billing were verbatim from Assurance and Nebraska employees.

I bought a Olympus 1010 Stylus camera from them with an extended warranty. I had to send it is for service because the lens zoom broke.

It was sent to United Camera, did not get fixed the first time, United Camera lost it the second time and tried to send me a junk replacement. Assurance will not make me whole. I will never purchase another thing from NFM because of this. NFM states they have nothing to do witht the extended warranties expect to push them to people.

I want my camera back, but that will never happen.

I will be buying a new from from another store or the Olympus web site. What a rip off of $100 for the warranty.

I have a bright green pixel in the middle of my 52" TV. at first they said it was covered then sent a tech out to fix it, then the tech said they would send me a new TV and Assurance would contact me with a follow up.....

that was 6 weeks ago. Im on the phone now with a "supervisor" and after being told by the first guy that answered the phone that it was not covered because I need 3 pixels not working... the "supervisor" is not sure if it is covered or not so now im on hold again.. i have been on the phone for 4 hours so far on this call, and im gettin nowhere....

now i have finished the call and dont realy think that they care,,, at all.... jerks

Good point. Bought a computer from them.

It fried the MB and they have had my computer for over a week. Ordered a new Mother board and found out it was the wrong one they ordered. Then they did it again! Two misorders in a row!

Im without a computer, my business is suffering and the "Super TEchs" seem more like Super Turds. Sad part of it all really is that they simply don't care. I guess this is what I get for buying from them. No problem, that won't happen again.

A simple apology might have kept me loyal. Now they're up there with Best Buy aka places I refuse to shop.

I have had the worst experience with NFM and their 'assurance" contractor. Its funny because after waiting for 10 months (tons of phone calls and arguments later) the manager at NFM just told me today that they have never had a problem with assurance before.

I have now contacted an attorney and will be holding NFM liable for the faulty policy they sold me.

Yes eric I have written a few others because of the shoddy work the nfm gives to customers. There is nothing wild about the stories I wrote eric.

Just because you happen to have had a good experiance with nfm doesn't mean you always will. I hope you get to enjoy one of the days I had with those shoddy guys. I once was a loyal customer to those guys until they screwed me over, I am making sure that people know nfm is a *** pot of a company and would love to see a few more complaints about this company, *** I would even like to see them in bankrupsy court someday.

Now that would be great! Any company that knowingly screws the customer by painting or varnishing over damage they caused and not honoring to replace it is a scammer and I hope people come to realize this about nfm.

Nebraska Furniture Mart, cheap

I bought an item from that store and never again, I bought a DVD when I got home and put it in there was nothing and I mean nothing on the dvd, i took it back the next day only be that I cold exchange it, ok so I did I took this one home and strated to play it the dvd worked up until about half way then it stopped and the screen went black then blue. I again took it back, I was a little upset when I was there and then this guy came up to me and said he was the security manager and wanted to know what my problem was, OMG they called this guy because after the dvd incident I got upset because I had to make 2 trips because of a faulty dvd. I explained to him my problem and he said there was nothing he could do he was actually being snide and condescending, a few other customers were watching and one guy in my defence said to the security gy "hey leave him alone" the security guy his name was Jim said "mind your own buisness sir" I said I do not appreciate your tone and wanted my money back, they did eventually give my money back but not after this Jim guy who was being a total *** stood there and then followed me out. I told them I would never be back to such a lousy store and he then stopped and said in a low voice to me "I really don't care your just one person". How rude and offensive just because he was the security manager what gives him the right to say that to a customer who was only upset because of a dvd he had to bring back not once but twice??? I will not shop there again and I hope we can boycott this store or maybe get this upity security manager fired.

I bought a couch that was supposed to be leather, but it is apparently not! We have had it just over a year and all the "leather" is wearing off.
